First of all, if you have landed here, chances are there's a new bundle of joy in your future. Congratulations! We love capturing beautiful images of people of all ages, but newborn sessions bring us extra joy. We strive to capture the first few days of life and turn the resulting images into works of fine art to be treasured forever. While some photographers focus only on baby, we believe everyone should be included in the images we capture and will always include parents, siblings and even grandparents or furry family members who come to the session.

When should we schedule our session?

Ideally, newborns should be photographed within the first 10 days of life. Our favorite day is day 6: Mom's milk has come in, the baby is getting enough to eat, and is sleeping well, and curling up small. During the first 10 days we can capture the sweet curling up that only very young newborns will do. To ensure that we can schedule your session during that window, it's important to reach out several weeks before your due date if possible. We will not schedule a firm date at that time, but we will have you on our list of upcoming sessions so that once baby is born, we can be sure our schedule allows us to get you in during that short window of time. Once your little one has arrived, you can contact us to create a firm appointment for your session.

How should we prepare? Do we need to bring anything?

Our extensive collection of blankets, wraps, baskets and other props should have everything we need to create the newborn images you're dreaming of, but if you have a special item you'd like to include, you are welcome to bring it and we will do our best to work it into your session. We do include a list of things you should bring in our Newborn Session Guide, which we will be happy to send you after your session is scheduled. It also includes lots of tips on clothing for parents and siblings and much more information on how to prepare for your session.

How long will the session take?

The length of the newborn session depends on the star of the show. Most of the sweet curled up poses or those in baskets or buckets require baby to be asleep so the length of the session depends on what specific types of images you want and how much your little one sleeps. We do have a private changing room and allow plenty of time for diaper changes, feeding, soothing, rocking, etc...

What happens after the session?

When you come for your session, we will give you a folder with some great information to help you be prepared to make decisions at the ordering appointment, which is usually scheduled within two weeks of the session. At that appointment, you will see the images Lisa carefully selected from those she captured during your child's photography session, choose your favorites and place your order. We have many options for creating wonderful art with your favorite images. We can even superimpose your images on your walls using pictures you send to us before the ordering appointment. This allows you to see how they will look on your walls at different sizes so you can be confident in your decisions. It's really helpful to know exactly where your beautiful portraits will go when you get them home.
