I absolutely LOVE living so close (less than a mile) from the Crystal Bridges Museum. It’s an awesome place to visit during the day AND at night. Just recently a 30-foot, continiously-changing, lighted sculpture was brought from the Madison Square Park Conservancy in New York and installed as a temporary outdoor exhibit near the entrance to the museum. (See picture below.) There are six really cool benches, designed by the same artist, for people to sit on to watch the light show.
We also LOVE children’s museums and have been to two over the past few months. The first was the Science Museum of Oklahoma in OKC and the other was the Magic House in Saint Louis. I HIGHLY recommend both of them for anyone traveling to either of those two cities with kids. Here are a few images of my boys and their cousins at the two museums.
That brings me to the point of this post. The hayfield in the picture below is located on J Street in Bentonville. It’s to the right of the driveway heading into the entrance of the Crystal Bridges Museum.
It was announce a few days ago that an amazing Children’s Museum is coming to NW Arkansas and is going to be built IN THAT FIELD! Here is a rendering of what it’s going to look like. There are a bunch of other renderings on the website.
It’s going to be called the “Amazeum.” I’ve already worked with them on a couple of projects and am SO excited about having such a fun and exciting place to take our kids. The Amazeum has a temporary office in Downtown Bentonville on 2nd Street across from the courthouse. They have a “Tinker Room” which will be open periodically for kids to come and play and get a chance to see what the museum is going to be like. Click HERE to view and like their Facebook page to get information on upcoming events. You can also read more about the museum and see additional pictures on their WEBSITE.
These are a few images on display at office.
My kids talked about the two museums we went to for days on end and I’m SO excited about having the Amazeum in Northwest Arkansas!
